GLP Breaks New Ground with Sustainable Data Center in Tokyo

GLP, a global leader in logistics real estate, data centers, and renewable energy is marking its entrance into the Japanese data center market with the groundbreaking of a three-building campus ‘Tokyo West 1’ in West Tokyo, Japan. GLP Breaks Ground on Tokyo Data Center Campus

GLP has commenced construction of its first three-building data center campus in West Tokyo, the Tokyo West 1 (TKW1), which will offer a total IT load of 31 MW. Building 1, which lays the foundation of the campus, is slated for completion in February 2025 and is designed to meet the requirements of both hyperscale and enterprise customers in aspects of physical and cybersecurity, safety, reliability, and sustainability.

Meeting Enterprise and Hyperscale Customer Demands

GLP has assembled a global team of seasoned data center industry professionals to provide comprehensive technical expertise in the design, delivery, and operation of TKW1. To drive the sustainability goals of future enterprise and hyperscale customers, the center will operate on clean energy from GLP’s renewable business and be constructed to LEED Gold certification standards.

With more than 600 MW of IT load currently available across its four planned campuses in Tokyo and one in Osaka, the company is poised to provide sustainable, safe, secure, and reliable data center solutions to meet current and future business application, cloud, and AI computing deployments.
