Ibrahim Technopolis Sets Bold New Standard for Johor Innovation

Johor Bahru is set to become a major innovation hub with the launch of Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC). Developed by JLand Group, IBTEC spans 7,290 acres and aims to drive high-value, technology-enabled industries in the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone.

Ibrahim Technopolis: A Hub for Next-Generation Industries

IBTEC is designed as a connected ecosystem for medtech, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, logistics, data centres, and agritech. Built on robust R&D capabilities and a strong digital backbone, the district will help Johor transition into more advanced economic activities. The vision is to create a real-world innovation sandbox where industries, innovators, and government can pilot, refine, and scale solutions. This strong foundation is expected to position Johor among Asia’s most compelling economic regions.

Low-Carbon Innovation and Iconic Infrastructure at IBTEC

Unlike conventional industrial parks, IBTEC follows a low-carbon, future-ready model. It is home to Malaysia’s first 5-Diamond-rated data centre parks and supports the national Low Carbon City Framework. An important centerpiece is Livilab at Exclaim Discovery City, a mixed-use nucleus designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid Architects. This area will serve as an iconic gateway and foster a sustainable, people-centric community with integrated housing, public spaces, and digital mobility.

Empowering Johor’s Economy and Attracting Global Investors

IBTEC is structured as an investor-ready platform, allowing companies to quickly establish and grow their presence. This aligns with Malaysia’s NIMP 2030, the 13th Malaysia Plan, and Johor’s Maju Johor 2030 goals. By offering scalable infrastructure and efficient systems, the development aims to attract significant investments, create high-value jobs, and boost SME participation. Over time, IBTEC will help Malaysians and Johoreans move up the value chain, both as professionals and entrepreneurs.

In summary, Ibrahim Technopolis represents a bold new chapter for Johor and Malaysia. With its focus on innovation, sustainability, and economic empowerment, IBTEC is poised to become a world-class destination for industries and investors—and a thriving hub for future generations.
