Arelion Mexico AI Connectivity Strengthens Tech Expansion

Arelion is expanding its digital footprint in Mexico with a major network enhancement. The company has unveiled a second fully diverse DWDM fiber route connecting Querétaro and Monterrey. This move aims to strengthen Mexico’s AI superhighway and support the country’s rapidly growing cloud and technology sectors.

Arelion Expands Diverse Fiber Routes to Support AI in Mexico

Arelion’s new underground fiber route delivers high-capacity and low-latency connectivity across Mexico’s most critical digital hubs. This DWDM route, powered by advanced C+L band open optical systems and next-generation 400G/800G optics, supports wholesale and enterprise customers. The additional route boosts network resilience while connecting Querétaro and Monterrey directly to Arelion’s Latin American AI superhighway. Businesses also benefit from reliable links to technology markets in Texas through McAllen and Laredo.

Boosting Data Center Capacity in Querétaro and Monterrey

Querétaro continues to lead Mexico’s data center expansion with nearly 15% of the nation’s facilities and more than $2 billion invested. The city hosts almost 95 megawatts of commissioned power, and projections suggest this will rise to 700 megawatts soon. Monterrey matches this growth, doubling its commissioned data center power to strengthen its position as a technology hub near the U.S. border. This expansion provides:

  • High-availability, low-latency links for edge inferencing and AI-powered applications
  • Support for industries such as manufacturing, gaming, and financial services
  • Reinforcement of cloud and content streaming connectivity

Enabling Low-Latency, High-Bandwidth Connectivity for Growth

Arelion’s investment benefits customers with an expanded set of scalable services, including low-latency IP Transit, Wavelengths, and 100G Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL). The company now operates ten regional Points of Presence (PoPs) in Mexico, serving major data centers in cities like Querétaro, Monterrey, Mexico City, Mérida, Guadalajara, and Tijuana. According to Arelion, the new routes enable companies to meet increasing bandwidth demands and easily deploy data-intensive AI solutions.

In summary, Arelion is solidifying its role as a backbone of Mexico’s AI and cloud infrastructure. With a robust and resilient network, the company supports businesses’ evolving needs in data, connectivity, and digital transformation. As demand for high-speed connections grows, Arelion’s new route is poised to help drive economic growth and technological innovation across the region.
