DISH Wireless: Powering 5G for 240 Million Americans

DISH Wireless has reached a significant milestone by offering 5G broadband service to over 70% of the US population. This achievement grants more than 240 million Americans access to the latest connectivity technology and demonstrates a major development for both DISH and the country’s telecom industry.

DISH Wireless Achieves 5G Milestone

In just three years, DISH Wireless has established a first-of-its-kind 5G network, meeting all the FCC commitments set for June 14, 2023. This includes deploying over 15,000 5G sites, serving as a testament to the company’s tireless efforts to grow the world’s only 5G cloud-native Open RAN network.

Expanding VoNR Across the US

DISH is the first wireless provider to launch 5G voice service, known as voice over new radio (VoNR), in the United States. Having gone live in Las Vegas, the VoNR service now covers over 70 million people across the nation, available through both Boost Mobile and Boost Infinite. DISH intends to continue rolling out this next-generation voice technology as the network becomes more optimized.

Project Genesis and Boost Mobile

Customers can access DISH’s 5G network through Project Genesis, which offers valuable feedback on network performance. Available to anyone in a qualifying location within the 70% coverage area, Project Genesis provides unlimited data, voice, and text. The Motorola edge+ 2023 is now available for Project Genesis subscribers. DISH’s 5G network is also accessible to Boost Mobile and Boost Infinite subscribers with compatible devices in over 50 markets nationwide, and more markets and compatible devices will be made available throughout the year.

In summary, DISH Wireless has made a substantial advancement by offering 5G broadband service to a large portion of the US population. With a focus on expanding VoNR service and increasing availability through Project Genesis and Boost Mobile, DISH continues to play a pivotal role in transforming America’s wireless infrastructure and the global communications landscape.
