TELUS Digital Privatization Signals Strong Growth and Innovation

TELUS has officially completed the privatization of TELUS Digital, positioning itself as a leader in AI-driven digital customer experience solutions. This move, backed by overwhelming shareholder support, sets the stage for accelerated growth and increased operational efficiency across the company’s wide range of services.

TELUS Acquires Full Ownership: Strategic Goals and Vision

With this acquisition, TELUS now owns 100% of TELUS Digital. According to Darren Entwistle, TELUS’ President and CEO, the privatization marks a significant milestone. The company aims to bring world-class digital customer experiences, advanced AI platforms, and SaaS innovation to all of its core business areas, including telecommunications, health, agriculture, and consumer goods. This closer integration is expected to create new opportunities for both existing TELUS operations and TELUS Digital’s external client base.

Integration Boosts AI and SaaS Capabilities Across Sectors

TELUS plans to leverage TELUS Digital’s expertise to enhance digital experiences company-wide. By accelerating the adoption of AI-powered automation and advanced software solutions, TELUS expects to:

  • Simplify business operations
  • Boost service offerings for clients and customers
  • Drive cross-promotion between business units

The company has announced that these changes could generate about $150 million annually through improved efficiencies and smarter technology.

Shareholder Approval and Expected Financial Efficiencies

The transaction, valued at approximately US$539 million, received strong support from shareholders with a combination of cash, TELUS shares, or a mix of both offered as consideration. Shareholders overwhelmingly approved the deal at a recent special meeting. With completion of the arrangement, TELUS Digital’s shares will soon be delisted from both the Toronto and New York Stock Exchanges. TELUS expects that these changes will deliver immediate value to shareholders while strengthening the company’s position in an increasingly competitive digital market.

With full ownership of TELUS Digital, TELUS is poised for rapid advancement in AI and SaaS innovation across all its sectors. Enhanced operational efficiencies and deeper integration will help TELUS focus on delivering superior value for its customers and shareholders alike, solidifying its reputation as a global leader in digital transformation.
