Elitery AWS Malaysia Launches Ambitious Program to Boost Digital Skills

Elitery and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking initiative in Malaysia. Their aim is to provide 20,000 university students with practical skills in cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI). This new move marks a significant milestone in fostering digital talent and innovation in the country.

Elitery and AWS Launch CendekiAwan Program at Malaysian Universities

Through its Malaysian subsidiary, Elitery Malaysia is collaborating with AWS and several leading universities. The CendekiAwan Malaysia Program starts with three major institutions: Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The program may soon expand to include up to eight more universities, further amplifying its impact across Malaysia’s higher education landscape.

Training 20,000 Students in Cloud Computing and AI Skills

This ambitious program seeks to equip 20,000 students from up to eleven universities with hands-on experience in cloud computing and generative AI. All Malaysian students, regardless of their academic focus, can participate. Key features of the program include:

  • AWS Skill Builder courses in Cloud and AI
  • Access to PartyRock, an Amazon Bedrock playground for real-world practice
  • National competitions, including one for the Top 200 AI applications
  • Certificates of completion under AWS’s Future Builders initiative

These opportunities are designed to build digital skills while encouraging creativity and real-world impact.

Supporting Malaysia’s Digital Economy Through Academic Collaboration

The initiative strongly supports Malaysia’s MyDIGITAL Blueprint and the Ministry of Higher Education’s certification goals. The program operates through a unique cascade approach: AWS experts train Elitery’s professionals, who then mentor university faculty members. These lecturers directly teach and guide students, ensuring lasting benefits. Universities benefit from increased co-hosting opportunities, research collaborations, and a more prominent role in the nation’s digital transformation efforts.

In summary, the Elitery AWS Malaysia collaboration is set to make a lasting impact on the country’s digital future. By empowering thousands of students and educators with essential cloud and AI skills, this partnership helps bridge the digital skills gap and drives Malaysia forward in today’s technology-driven economy.
