Safer Internet Day 2024: Inspiring Change Online

Celebrated anually, Safer Internet Day strives to address challenges that young internet users face. This year’s theme, ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’ delves into areas like emerging technologies and the role of the internet in enacting positive changes. The theme also examines how outside influences can alter the online and offline behavior of children.

KnowBe4’s Innovative AI Safety Module for Students

KnowBe4 is taking part in this initiative by enhancing its Children’s Interactive Cybersecurity Activity Kit. Their new module, “AI Safety for Students,” takes on the challenge of teaching kids about AI and how to safely navigate it. Made for students from third to eighth grade, the module gives them an understanding of AI and equips them with the necessary knowledge and skills to enjoy the benefits of AI, while evading potential risks. This module, which comes in English, Spanish, French, German, and Japanese, was created using Synthesia’s AI video platform.

The Role of KnowBe4 in Enhancing Online Safety

KnowBe4, the brain behind the largest security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, currently serves over 65,000 organizations worldwide. With this new module, the company is extending its reach to younger internet users. John Just, chief learning officer at KnowBe4, stated that it’s their duty as a security organization to, not only point out what could go wrong when using AI, but also guide children on leveraging AI safely.
