FIX Innovation Awards Media Day Showcases Leading K-Startups and Innovation Potential

On October 22, Daegu Metropolitan City and EXCO hosted FIX Innovation Awards Media Day as a prelude to FIX 2024, giving eight standout startups a chance to pitch their pioneering technologies. The session, which featured IR presentations and a Q&A with international media, highlighted innovations across Future Mobility, ABB, and Robotics, aiming to showcase Korea’s emerging tech strengths on a global scale.

Eight Startups Capture Media Interest

The FIX Innovation Awards debuted this year with 210 companies, culminating in awards for nine Best Innovative Technology winners and 27 Innovation Award recipients. Here’s a look at some of the standout companies from Media Day:

  • HEI (Future Mobility): HEI presented Biifore, a fast and precise software solution assessing electric vehicle battery health (SOH) within a minute. This ensures user safety while providing transparent data independent of EV manufacturers.
  • Korea Metal Silicon (Future Mobility): Korea Metal Silicon highlighted its high-precision silicon materialscrucial for EV batteries, semiconductors, and photovoltaic technology. These materials improve battery efficiency for future mobility applications.
  • Korea LFP (Future Mobility): Korea LFP displayed its Smart Safe Battery Management System (SBMS), the world’s first battery management system with integrated fire suppression to ensure lithium battery safety.
  • Sapere Aude Inc. (ABB): Sapere Aude introduced DocsHunt AI, a tool that automatically creates documents from keywords, performing live market research and integrating data for faster business report generation.
  • WARP Solution (ABB): WARP Solution showcased SPACE, a dual-purpose RF wireless charger and desk lamp. This solution charges multiple devices within 40 cm, integrating charging seamlessly into office environments.
  • MindsAI (ABB): MindsAI featured Minds.NAVI, an AI tool for mental health assessment using saliva analysis and psychometric data. It assists in diagnosing depression and assessing suicide risk.
  • Phantomics (ABB): Phantomics presented Myomics, an AI-powered diagnostic tool for myocardial diseases that provides rapid and accurate assessments through MRI and CT scans.
  • Twinny (Robotics): Twinny introduced NarGo, an autonomous picking robot for logistics. Its self-driving capabilities and optimized robot allocation platform, TARAS, support efficient warehouse and factory automation.

International Media Boosts Global Reach

Eleven media outlets from nine countries attended FIX 2024, including Gadgetouch (Japan)SINA (China)Helsinki Times (Finland), and Le Café Du Geek (France). These publications provided FIX 2024 with comprehensive international coverage, enhancing visibility for the Korean startups presented.

On October 24, each media representative will select and award their top three companies, providing further international exposure for Korea’s cutting-edge startups. This spotlight through major outlets like Clipset (Spain) and ET Auto (India) could create valuable international opportunities for the startups.

FIX 2024: A Convergence of Technology and Innovation

As FIX 2024 opens, the spotlight remains on advanced sectors like future mobilityroboticsAI, and big data. The East Wing showcases trends in autonomous driving and electric vehicles, while the West Wing explores robotics and ABB technologies. The newly launched Start-up Arena also creates networking opportunities with accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.

Through events like Media Day, FIX 2024 amplifies Korea’s role in global tech and innovation, creating meaningful connections for startups aiming to lead in transformative technology.
