Goodwill Industries International (GII) has launched a redesigned website to better serve job seekers looking for new skills training and career opportunities. The revamped website has seen a 20% increase in year-over-year web traffic since mid-December 2022, with a daily average of 500 users across the USA connecting to their nearby Goodwill career centers.
Goodwill Industries Launches New Website for Job Seekers
The Goodwill.org website provides easily found resources to connect individuals with career navigation and skills-building resources. The online hub is designed to ensure everyone has an opportunity to thrive. The revamped website is optimized for everyone looking to build better lives with great career paths. The website redesign was constructed with the help of a Google.org Fellowship, which provided 10 Google employees to work on a pro-bono basis with GII to better understand how job seekers and career advancers could connect with local Goodwill career centers, build skills and obtain employment.
Google.org Fellowship Provides Technical Expertise for Revamping Goodwill.org
The Google.org Fellows helped in providing a better starting point for job seekers to navigate their challenging job markets. GII’s chief partnership officer, Wendi Copeland said that usability is crucial since millions of people visit Goodwill websites every year. Copeland added that the sites must be easy to navigate with clear pathways to the right resources people need.
Goodwill Connects Job Seekers to Skills and Opportunities through Improved Website
The partnership between Goodwill and Google.org will connect more people to skills and opportunities they need to earn jobs and advance in their careers. Goodwill Industries International is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a network of 155 community-based, autonomous organizations in the United States, Canada and 12 other countries that provide people with opportunities and support to empower themselves and thrive through training, development and employment. The revamped website is a vital and responsive tool that will help millions of Americans navigate the challenges of today’s job market, build new skills, and advance their professional aspirations for a brighter future.
With improved user experience and increased web traffic, GII looks forward to better serving job seekers and career advancers, as well as the shoppers, donors, partners, and other stakeholders who help fund the Goodwill mission.
In addition to the redesign, the Google.org Fellows produced a job-seeker-focused website template that can be used by local Goodwill organizations to connect directly with their community members who are seeking to learn new skills and advance their professional aspirations. This work aligns with GII’s strategic initiative to ensure everyone has an opportunity to thrive.
