Korea’s largest solar power exhibition 2021 International Green Energy Expo held at Daegu EXCO on April 28

The 2021 International Green Energy EXPO & Conference will be held from April 28 (Wed) to 30 (Fri) at EXCO Daegu. Korea’s largest and the world’s top 10 solar and renewable energy exhibition celebrating 18th session this year is hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do and organized by KECA, KNREA, KOPIA, KWEIA, KHIA, and KOTRA.

These days, offline exhibitions are facing a crisis due to the prolonged outbreak of COVID-19, but 223 companies from 16 countries participated to display the latest technologies and solutions to achieve the Green New Deal such as solar power, ESS, battery, wind power, hydrogen, and smart grid in the miniature of the new and renewable energy ecosystem. Also, the 2021 International Green Energy Conference will be held, inviting domestic and foreign solar and hydrogen experts to share global solar market strategies and explores the direction of the development of a low-carbon economy.

The Green Energy Expo

Where the latest technologies, innovative solutions and product information related to new and renewable energy will be shared, and will have special halls named PV KOREA, ESS KOREA, and Renewable Energy Pavilion.

PV KOREA, photovoltaic materials and parts, cells and modules, equipment and peripherals, design and construction technology, solutions, and financial services will be exhibited. ESS KOREA, system, parts and equipment, and solutions related to energy storage technology, smart grid, battery production technology and plant will be displayed. In the new and renewable energy sector, climate change response policies will be shared along with the introduction of the latest new and renewable energy technologies such as onshore and offshore wind, small-scale power, bio, hydrogen, geothermal, and gasification technologies that will accelerate the transition to an eco-friendly economic ecosystem.

Green Energy Expo is the only exhibition in Korea where global renewable energy companies participate as sponsors every year. Seven of the world’s top 10 solar cell and solar panel companies including Hanwha Q Cells, LONGi Solar, JA Solar, Trina Solar, and AIKO Solar will participate. Along with this, products and technologies from eight of the world’s top 10 solar inverter companies including SunGrow, HUAWEI, GOODWE, KSTAR, Astronergy, Solis, Growatt, and SOFAR will be displayed, and global companies like Fimer, SMA, and Fronius will participate.

In Korea, the latest technologies, products, and solutions that will lead the domestic and overseas markets from Hyundai Energy Solution, Shinsung ENG, Hansol Technics, Top Solar, Solar Connect, Solar Play, OCI Power, Daesung Energy, Scotra, Dass Tech, HEIM Electronics, and Duksan Cotran will be displayed. In addition, KEPCO, Korea Gas Corporation, Daegu Machatronics & Materials Institute, Pohang Technopark, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, KNREA, KOPIA,  Energy Association, Korea Solar Power Industry Association, Korea Rural Community Corporation will participate to introduce green new deal implementation strategy and support policies.

EXCO will hold the 2021 International Green Energy Conference from April 28 to 30

To share global solar market strategies and hydrogen fuel cell trends with Korean and foreign solar and hydrogen experts participating. This conference will be divided into PV Market Insights 2021 (PVMI) for two days on April 28 and 29 and H2M Hydrogen Market Insight on April 30, held as online and offline hybrid conference.

PVMI, held under the theme of “Global Solar Market Strategy for the Carbon Neutral Era,” is a specialized conference that presents market analysis and prospects of Korea’s major solar power sector in Korea. The latest information will be presented in 10 sessions in global solar power market, photovoltaic policy and investment, agricultural solar power, floating solar market and technology trends.

Fifteen experts in major solar power fields from nine countries.

Including the US, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Morocco, will participate online. From Korea, 30 experts from new and renewable energy institutes like KIER and KETEP and Hanwha Q Cells, Shinsung ENG and Isolar Energy will make presentations at offline venues as invited speakers. Especially on April 28, Paul J. Saunders (President) from Energy Innovation Reform Project known as the think tank in the US government’s new and renewable energy sector  will participate in the special session to introduce strategies to enter the US market.

Hydrogen Market Insight (H2MI), which will open up a new horizon of the energy economy, will be held on April 30 as an on-offline hybrid session to introduce global hydrogen market trends and prospects, and the hydrogen economy policies and industries in Korea and overseas. This event was prepared to understand the overall trend of hydrogen economy, which has raised interest from the government’s declaration of carbon neutrality by 2050, and is co-hosted by Yeungnam University Hydrogen Industry Convergence Human Resources Development Project Group, KOSEE, and EXCO.

In the morning, a keynote speech on Global Hydrogen Market Trends and Prospects will be presented at Bloomberg NEF, and a panel will be invited to focus on the global hydrogen market. Also in the afternoon session, foreign speakers from ‣ University of Tokyo (Japan) ‣University of Melbourne (Australia) ‣Halle University (Germany), and Korean speakers from ‣KEEI ‣Pohang Technopark ‣Hyundai Motor Company will have a heated discussion on the ecosystem of hydrogen energy market in their own perspectives.

More event around the Daegu EXCO

In addition to exhibitions and conferences, Green Energy Expo will organize various additional events to strengthen the promotional marketing capabilities of exhibitors and promote information exchange among visitors. Among them, the expectations of the participating companies for the Cyber Export Consultation, which will be held for two days, April 28- 29, are higher than ever. The event was renamed from Export Consultation to Cyber Export Consultation this year. The participation rate of overseas buyers who are looking for good partners and innovative products and technology was shown to be high.

Also, various side events like 2021 Green New Deal Secondary Battery Industry Promotion Forum, KOSEE’s Spring Symposium, and Korea Energy Agency’s officer’s training and workshops will be held at this exhibition. Along with this, a new technology presentation Innovation Program where 10 companies including Hanwha Q Cells and Hyundai Green Energy will participate will be held.

The EXCO official said, “This exhibition will allow you to see innovative technologies, product information, market trends, and climate change response policies that will accelerate energy conversion and low-carbon economic structure at a glance. It will provide the opportunity to create profit for the participating companies, and help Korea to lead the global market with green revolution and provide the direction for Korea to step up as the energy-independent country and energy exporting country.”

EXCO will hold the opening ceremony of the 2nd exhibition center in time for the opening of the International Green Energy Expo. Hall 2, located between the West Hall of EXCO and the 4-lane road on the east side, is as large as five soccer fields, measuring 39,713㎡ in the space and 15,000㎡ in the exhibition area.

The 18th International Green Energy Expo is Korea’s largest, Asia’s top 3, and the world’s top 10 new and renewable energy exhibition, and the only exhibition jointly organized by the four major associations. The exhibition will cover △Solar power △ESS (energy storage system) & battery △Smart grid technology △Wind power and △New and renewable energy. This exhibition is hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do and organized by EXCO, KNREA, KOPIA, KWEIA, and KHIA.
